Houston, TX, August 18, 2009 - - Stephen Hann was elected a Life Director of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) at the association’s Spring Board of Directors Meeting in Washington, DC.

Hann is the president of Hann Builders in Houston, TX, a full service, design/build custom builder and remodeler. The company has been in business since 1993 and besides numerous awards over the years it was named NAHB’s Custom Builder of the Year for 2008. Stephen Hann is also active in the Houston community through his work with the Boy Scouts of America, Child Advocates of Fort Bend County, and the Lakewood Church.

Barry Rutenberg, third vice chairman of the NAHB, thanked Stephen for his dedication and commitment in attending and participating in NAHB’s board of director meetings for the past 10 years. “The growth and scope of NAHB is largely due to involved and caring board members,” said Rutenberg. “The NAHB senior officers recognize that continuing contributions from involved members will help NAHB maintain the leadership position it enjoys in the building industry.” A national director has to attend at least two meetings per year for 10 years to become a Life Director and earn a permanent seat on NAHB’s board.
